Hello!
My name is Tomáš Iser and I am located in Prague, Czech Republic.
I am an academic researcher and teacher at the Computer Graphics Group at Charles University. I am also a co-founder of Additive Appearance, a university spin-off company focusing on high-quality color 3D printing.
During my PhD studies (2019-2023), I was supervised by doc. Jaroslav Křivánek and prof. Alexander Wilkie. From October 2024 to March 2025, I was a postdoctoral research associate at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) in Germany under prof. Tim Weyrich, with whom I continue to collaborate.
I mainly focus on studying material appearance, which has various applications, such as in photorealistic rendering, 3D printing, optics, or the dental industry. I am especially interested in:
- materials that exhibit complex appearance, such as fluorescence or subsurface scattering,
- optimization and inverse problems, including differentiable rendering and neural approaches.
