Hello!

My name is Tomáš Iser and I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Computer Graphics Group at Charles University. I am also a co-founder of Additive Appearance, a university spin-off company that develops software for color 3D printing.

I am located in Prague, Czech Republic, where I finished my PhD studies in September 2023 under prof. Alexander Wilkie. In the period from October 2024 to March 2025, I work at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) in Germany under prof. Tim Weyrich.

My main focus is on material appearance and its various applications, such as in photorealistic rendering, 3D printing, optics, or the dental industry. In the past, most of my research was specifically about materials and objects that exhibit subsurface light scattering or fluorescence. I am also interested in optimization and inverse problems, including differentiable rendering and neural approaches.
