Hello!

My name is Tomáš Iser, I am located in Prague, Czech Republic, and I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Computer Graphics Group at Charles University. I am also a co-founder of Additive Appearance, a university spin-off company that researches and develops software for color 3D printing, where I am currently responsible for leading the research.

I finished my PhD studies in Prague in September 2023, initially supervised by late doc. Jaroslav Křivánek, later prof. Alexander Wilkie. In the period from October 2024 to March 2025, I worked at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) in Germany under prof. Tim Weyrich, with whom I continue to collaborate.

My main focus is on material appearance and its various applications, such as in photorealistic rendering, 3D printing, optics, or the dental industry. I am especially interested in:

  • materials that exhibit complex appearance, such as fluorescence or subsurface scattering,
  • optimization and inverse problems, including differentiable rendering and neural approaches.
